FELLOW PUMPKIN HEADS,
At the ripe old age of 82 i still have the urge to promote and/or provide for our giant growing community, while at the same time providing for some local children and families in need-aka ORANGE ANGELS REBOOT WITH A TWIST
Iam envisioning a seeds promo sale where the top thirty 2k and up pumpkins and green squash are sold as a promotional seed packet with pumpkin clubs getting first right of refusal (time sensitive ) before opening to individual growers.
The promo would sell for $450.00 ($15.00 per seed affording these clubs an opportunity to raise funds without all the seed requests and if becoming popular enough in the future could take some of the seed requests off of the grower as well.
65% OF PROMO SALE PROFITS (less shipping costs) WILL BE SPLIT EQUALLY BETWEEN THE SEED DONORS AND 35% TO ORANGE ANGLE CHARITIES.
a 50-promo pack total containing 30 of these top seed stocks @ $450.00 would net $22,500.00 ( the thirty growers WOULD split $14,625.00 ($477 ea) ---OAF charities gets $7,875.
A FUNDRAISER OF THIS SCOPE DEMANDS THAT ALL SHARE IN THE SUCCESS - SEED DONORS-CLUBS FUNDRAISERS AND OAF CHARITIES.
INTERESTED TO HEAR WHAT THe HEAVY HITTERS community has TO SAY?
THANKS PAP WALLACE papsbuick56@aol.com

Pap's the Man! If I'm lucky enough to be in the top 30 you'll get my seeds but I won't except any payment. Put it back into the OAF. Woody

Pap, I've been supporting this cause for over well over a decade when another grower backed out.
You know how I feel! I can't believe I'm seeing this post! It was,,,,, BY FAR THE BEST SEED PACK OF THE YEAR FOR SO MANY YEARS!!!
Woody is the man and how it should be! Give it to the kids! We're all grown adults here and if you're growing 2000 pound fruit, you have plenty of money!:)

Paps, First Off Happy Birthday, great to see all the energy you still have for the kids and for the hobby. Supporting your OAF since you started kicking it off, I used club funds (RMGVG) to pick up your seed promo to support the RMGVG club auctions and help kick off seed procurement for the club. SInce then Master Scherber was doing to same.
Fantastic Idea and I hope all the clubs and growers rally behind your continued efforts.
Happy Holidays ALL

Paps I hope you can get growers of the top 5% pumpkins to go along with this. The OAF has always been a worthwhile charity and youve been the #1 ambassador to our hobby for the last 15 years. Definitely worth a shot.

And I'm sure all growers would donate their seed money back into the OAF like it use to be and Woody stated. I know I sure would!!:)
Again, you rock Pap!

But for the grace of God! The growers I've spoken with that all grow over 2000 each year said they would rather put the money back into the charity then get paid for seeds!:)
This hobby needs to stay more about " giving " and it seems to have strayed from this the past 5 plus years.
You the man Pap!
Love it Pap!

CTGPGC - Connecticut Giant Pumpkin Growers Club would definitely participate and purchase a pack for our fundraiser seed auction.
So many wins with this idea - biggest of all for the kids.
