The article says that the Bodles Globular pumpkin can produce 9 tons of fruit per acre. If my memory serves me correctly, AGs usually produce 1-1.5 tons per plant if none of the fruit are culled, right? if this is true, and you can fit more than 9 plants on one acre, AG's would be a better food producer than the Bodles Globular.
...of course, there is the issue of shipping the fruit...
The Bodles Globular pumpkin does have an interesting color. I wonder if it tastes yummy.
