First time grower here. I used the three measurement calculator and it came out to 381lbs. Is that good for 8/7? Pumpkin is growing like crazy. Today was the first I measured it. No color change or ribbing showing up yet. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that sounds great and there may be a lack of quick responses at the moment due to it being early in the week, everyone is spending a lot of time at the patch, etc., but DO keep up the good work and measuring(!). I am no Heavy Hitter, but you have me beat at this time and indeed, there are some incredible fruits out there that are boggling my mind.

Good is a relative term. I would say most first time growers would be elated with a Pumpkin that size.

If by good you mean something that will have a chance at 1000, 1500, or 2000 pounds, that all depends on what day you pollinated and where it is in the growth curve. Measure it again in 5 days and calculate out how many pounds a day it is growing. That will give you a clearer picture of how you are doing.

Do you happen to know when it was pollinated? We kind of go by how many days old the pumpkin itself is.

Thanks for your replies. I don't know when it was pollinated but I didn't plant the seeds until the 10th of May. I know I was a little late.

Measure again on Saturday, average it out to get an idea of how fast you're growing.

It is hard to determine good without a dap....If the pumpkin is 20 days after pollination it is very good but if it is 60 days after pollination it good for you only. plus what is your goal as that is the only thing that matters. If you compare yourself to other growers of varying degrees of expertise you will be frustrated . Just do you.
