Pumpkinhead (Team Brobdingnagian)

Columbus Ohio

I grew a 640 on a flag. The same year I grew a 642 on a traditional christmas tree plant. Both had about the same square feet.

Just curious, was the pumpkin on the main, if so what side did it grow on? secondary vegetative side or the non- vegetative side?

Quinn Werner I think does well using this method. Maybe he'll chime in.

How big was that flag Quinn? We have one plant that will be grown this way this year. I may get secondaries on both sides as we get out 8-12' or so. Perhaps this isn't necessary at all?

From stump to pumpkin 200 sq feet after pumpkin another 150 sq feet. I let a couple feet on the one side instead of cutting right at the main so I had 18 feet on one side and 2 feet on the other side. I left the two feet on the one side so I could have a couple leaves on that side. I didn't wont to cut the side vines right at the main so I figured I would go with two feet.

Quinn, is there a preference on which side you set your pumpkin? Thanks. Phil

Phil it doesn't seem to matter what side you set the pumpkin.
