I'm curious if anyone uses a couple of stacked tires to encircle seedlings. They'd be sunk in a bit, but the inner circle filled with compost, manure, and potting soil. Is there any reason this is not a good idea to help hold in some moisture, hold in some heat, and protect the young seedling? Kim

I'm using some for my tomato plants this year. Just gonna stick a plant in the center and fill it up with soil. Should work great in warming the soil faster.

You can see some in action in my 2003 diary the entries are on 2.23 and 4.6. Cutting out the sidewall is important for space/light.
