All these are germinated nicely. One week until choosing time. Please rank your choices. Thanks. Greg.

why can't anyone choose for themselves anymore. choose the most vigorous plants genetics don't mean alot. since it not the parent plants you need worry about but grand parents for genetic sources.

I'd say 620 and 797.5. How much space do you have? Alex.

Thanks Alex. My patch is long and skinny. 60 feet by 20 feet. I will say that my best looking seedlings at the 1279 Wyckoff and the 1320 Rose. After that, the 620 Boyton and the Liggett look best. The other two have pretty poor looking first leaves. The 1279 Wy is outgrowing the others 2 to 1. Greg

I have the same size and shape patch, 60 X 20. You might consider puting in 3 plants. That's what I'm doing. Alex.

I'd love to do three instead of two. What is your pattern then? Thanks. Greg

I'm certainly not an expert, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I like the 1370 and 1157.
Good luck

797 Wykoff (threw large and heavy, OTC genetics go back 4 generations) 1370 Rose (1260 Weir genetics...nuff said, heavy OTC) 1157 Werner (pollinator threw heavy OTC in '03) 935 Liggett (has thrown dark orange *and* heavy OTC)
620 and 1279 are unproven

My 620 has grown a 635, 629.5 and recently in Australia around 550 pounds. Any of those seeds have great potential! I would grow 2 plants of 600sqft each, and double plant each mound with the 4 best seedlings, and cull later on when all the mutants(if any) have shown up......lots can happen in the first month! Look out for vigor and things such as heat tolerance before making the cut.....Ben

Thanks Southern. I really appreciate the scoop especially that the 935 Liggett throws a nice dark orange. Assuming the plants all look good, that may be the decision maker for me.....Greg.

Neighbor, If you have the 620 Boyton going and don't plan on doing anything with it, I would take it off your hands. I'm in Independence, MO.
Let me know. I just got a friend started and that would be ideal for him.

Joe: E-mail me at [email protected] with your number. I will have several extra plants. Even if they aren't the big names, I have three going from my pumpkin last year. It only went 120 but the grandparents were 500+. Greg

Hey Independence,
Yep, I got it. Good news/bad news. My 620 Boyton bit the dust in transplanting but the rest all still looking good. It looked like it got stepped on overnight. I've got lots of critters from our woods so it's possible. I'll need a week to know what I've got in terms of the rest but it looks good.......Greg
