My wife was wondering if there is a support group for spouses of giant pumpkin growers, and if there isn't, if there is sufficient interest in starting one.

Wait till you have a big one on the vine and you start sleeping in the patch.

My wife works in town and purchases all of our "Goodies" for the garden; we have spent many Romantic evenings in the old 4x4 pickup drinking wine and watching the gardens flourish ;}

The way I have always seen it is I could be doing worse. This way she knows who my girlfriends are. Although they seem to compete. For instance if you are at the store and buy a new sprayer. She gets an new shirt, pair of shoes, and gets to go out to eat. Case in point leave her home. You need to get them involved, even if it is just the measurements chart recorder. Then they can see the growth and also the disappointment when it splits. Oh ya honey when you read this thanks for the new 14HP Tiller I got it for the both of us...:) Shannon

Well, After 4 years of watching Shannon grow. And not being able to sway him from it. It gets exciting... And I decided to join in on all the fun! Besides, Shannon gets all the great stuff now, Without a fuss!... lol.. The tiller, The calcuim Nitrate I found you and Brig...he he
My support group, Like Shannon said. Was if he got a new sprayer. I bought whatever I wanted..
Just keep in mind, The more I seemed interested and wanted to know the better the relationship got...Since everyone has their own thing they like to do and the spouse may or may not like to do it, It is always nice to get praised on the things that you can accomplish. This is now something we can both do together and be supportive of eachother.
It is really going to suck when I get a bigger pumpkin then him though...lmao Sorry baby...
Good Luck And if she needs any support have her email me :)

My wife got into growing giant watermelons after I started growing giant pumpkins. This keeps her interested in the garden and she doesn't mind when I spend a bit of money on the patch. Like Shannon said, get them involved also. You will be amazed on how much help they can be in the garden and I sure do appreciate the help.

I wish my wife would join the fun. She likes to plant petunia's and have me look after them.
