We got our first "severe storm" of the year, ended up with dime size hail that made quite a few nice holes in my 2 hoop houses I just finished last week :( got about 2" of rain also, and the patch was just getting dry enough to start hauling in the manure, now I'll have to wait a good 4-5 days yet and hope it stays dry.

OUCH! I am in Jim Falls, WI and the winds are running about 54 mph.. It has overturned our greenhouse and it looks like we are going to get some nasty thunderstorms here soon...
Good Luck with everything!

Yikes, I have a severe weather warning issued right now for us. There was a tornado on the ground for 20 minutes about 30 miles southwest of me about an hour ago. The radar shows that one cell is coming right for Taber. We usually don't get tornados at all. We'll see if we get anything. The rain would be nice. Alan

Yep... OK here trees are a little thinner. The Big Greenhouse is still standing. We have swapped garbage cans with the neighbors. One 6 x 8 greenhouse is in the lawn..I knew I should have use more than two anchors. I think the areas south of us got hit harder.

The black conservation fence around patch #1 took a pretty good beating. The burlap wind block rode the storm out suprisenly well.

Not too bad here.....some branches down....I haven't been home, but I got the report from my mom. My plastic covering the patch blew uphill to our patio, and my hoophouse blew across the lawn (right side up, luckily) but wasn't damaged. There wasn't any plants under it yet, but it will definitely be staked down once there are! I think the thunderstorm sirens were going off in Eau Claire too.

had a funnel cloud pass over joliet tonight but didn't hit here and i am not sure if it touched down further north east of us or not. had the tornado warning siren blasting. greenhouses still in tact thankfully. probably 2 inches of rain in half an hour and no standing water in the patch one hour later. i hope the storms lighten up as the night goes on.
