I have a few questions I would like to ask, but I will ask them 1 at a time.
Question #1: I live in Missouri. When should I plant?

I'm in Eastern Kansas. I'm starting inside over four different weekends starting this weekend. I won't plan outdoor until May 1.

Question #2: I plan on tilling the area for the garden 2-3 times. What product can I buy at Wal-Mart or a local hardware store to till into the garden to help out the soil?

First thing you need is the advise of a local Soil Extension Agent and a soil test so he can advise you on the basis of your area and your soil test. Maybe the guy at the hardware store can direct you to these two things in your community.

Joe, I agree with doc. Get the soil test done ASAP. Wal-Mart has many fine products but all you need is compost or any type of well rotted manure at this time of year. The soil test will help you decide. What is the size of your garden and how long have been working it? Have you ever added anything to improve the soil?
