For those of you that have not yet heard, the New York State Giant Pumpkin Grower's Association has finally been created. It is something that we agree has been long overdue. Our weighoff will be held in Cooperstown, NY. Those of you who attended the seminar at the falls know how excited the Dills are about it, since Cooperstown and Windsor have been twinned municipalities since 1996. Our founding members include Andy Wolf (me), Joe Pukos, Scott Armstrong, Dave Steele, Bill Bobier, John Elliott, and Deb & Randy Sundstrom. We have recieved support from many other growers as well. If you live in NY state, or are close enough to consider attending our weighoff, please email me and i will put you on our list to get updates. We will be holding a seed auction to help raise money [see the seed exchange board] needed to cover club costs, and possibly weighof support.

Best of luck with your new site Andy and gang, you are correct, it is long overdue! I may make the move up there in the future (only 2 hour drive compared to 4 for Altoona and PGPGA), but for now, the PGPGA has been so good to me, I find it hard to switch. Larry, Marv, and gang are amazing people, but then again, so is the group (Joe, Bill, etc) you mentioned!
You will be missed in Altoona!

I would also like to wish Andy and the NY gang good luck. Running a weigh-off is no easy chore but it sure looks like you have a good crew there.

Good luck Andy! I agree with Rocky. It is hard to leave Altoona but you are making the decision a tough one. Taking the twins to the weigh off and combining it with a day at the Hall of Fame will definately be in the cards. Best wishes. Ned
