We've talked about this before. Is there interest?

I am willing to chair an educational & promotional comittee position. This mouth is good for something! LOL

I can work with chemical maufacturers & coerce them into sponsoring & speaking at small educational seminars. I can even get us Private & Commercial Pesticide License recertification credits through DEP & speak at events. I have more Power-Point programs than I know what to do with & they exceed any technical material presented at Niagara.

We can establish a cooperative soil testing unit.

We had very little trouble pulling off a wonderful "Metro Spy Tour" last summer. There are already requests to do it again.

But I am miserable at keeping paperwork in order. What I need is that detail oriented person with the energy & time to cross T's & dot i's.

Ken & I spoke of this in the past. There are many more CT & Metro New York growers lurking here & making seed requests than I know of. For obvious reasons, Ken & John cannot disclose this information to me. So.......

Here is who I know that frequent this website.

CT Growers: Bart T, John D, Ken D, Dave G, Joe S, Dennis B, Chris F, Alan R, & Adam W.

Close NY Growers: Jim S, Scott A, & Glenn A.

First: Is there interest?
Second: Who are you?

Private e's are fine for the bashful.

Well this sounds very encouraging. I think we need to set a preliminary meeting date & location that is acceptable to all concerned.

I second Ray for treasurer. Ray, I need your new address & phone number.

I have received many positive phone calls & emails. Those whose phone numbers I have needn't respond. But there are more than a few phone numbers, names, addresses, etc missing from my list.

I'll start sending private emails as this thread grows to request vitals.

I'm pleased this idea is well received. I think we'll have fun & advance our sport.

OK. The charter members of The Metro Giant Pumpkin Growers Association have now all been spammed. No more virgins in this group!

We could do something creepy & meet in one of the chat rooms for our first meeting. But that might be strange.

So we all need to reply to my mass-spamming so we can look at a map & decide where to hold our first meeting. Then we can set a date.

Don't be bashful about calling my cell. If by chance I can't answer I return all voice mails promptly. Cell to cell is free (Verizon) or leave a number & I'll call on my own dime.

We still have an opening for an experienced Corporate Seceretary.

This is cool. There seems to be some genuine interest here. Let's keep it light & reasonable informal without breaking any laws. Do we need to incorporate 501c?
