Here is my test again in case some people didn't see it last time. I don't understand the ratios of micronutrients especially. But I need help with it all. What is a buffer pH? My patch is 1200 sq. ft. Thanks, Alex.

pH: 6.5
buffer pH: 6.7
Nitrogen: NO3-N=10 ppm
NH4-N=1 ppm
OM: 6%
Nutrient_Levels:_PPM_____Low_____Medium_____High_____High+
Phosphorus_(P)____9 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Potassium__(K)__151 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Calcium____(Ca)_1217XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Magnesium__(Mg)_159 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Cation Exch. Cap. = 9.1 Meq/100g
% Base Saturation K=3.6 Mg=12.1 Ca=56.6

Micronutrient_____PPM_____Soil_Range
Boron_______(B)___0.4_____0.1-2
Manganese___(Mn)__3.5_____3-20
Zinc________(Zn)__1.8_____0.1-70
Copper______(Cu)__0.4_____0.3-8
Iron________(Fe)__4.7_____1-40

Extractable Aluminum: 39 ppm (Soil range: 10-250 ppm)

The lead level in this soil is low.

With K & Mg this high, it would be nice to raise the Calcium a bit. But that would take some doing with Mg as high as this. If you are confident with this soil test, I'd get some Gypsum down soon. But keep the Magnesium containing fertilizers out of your patch for a while.

Your micros look good. Manganese is a little low. I'll wager this soil has seen a lot of Dolomitic Limestone. Is this true?

AXC

Cornwall UK.(50N 5W)300ft.

I look at those numbers and think how is any of that high.
It illustrates the huge gap between what labs say is ideal and what many pumpkin growers have in their soil the big question is which is right?
I would suggest a dressing of Bonemeal for N & P.

I don't know but I haven't put any limestone on the patch ever. Nobody has farmed it since 1850's so I don't think they would have put it on then.
