I called my local fair official to see what type of scale would be used to weigh the pumpkins and he said a horse scale would be used. What is that and how accurate are they.? I should have asked him but didn't.

not sure what a horse scale is - but every weigh off that i've been too or seen pictures of, had a very accurate electonic scale.
