I have received many e-mails from those expressing a stated interest in joining up with the Southern Growers Assoc. but only a few snail mail dues have come in. Several folks, and the OVPG group, have donated seed for our seed bank. The new logo is finished and the website should be up soon. I'll be going to Niagara in 2 weeks and will be having a banner made of the logo to take and help promote the group. (my funds cover this)
For those many folks who have expressed a desire to support and/ or join, I need you to send in your dues so we can get things going and a newsletter generated, these things cost money folks.
I also need a few volunteers to act as a Treasurer, Information Officer, Weigh-Off Represenative/Coordinator, and General Counsel. One guy can't run an organization or it's not going to last long, I'm asking for your help here Southern folks.

Addendum......

May I add to my previous posting.
If the SPGA membership can get to a particular point, I have 21 people "committed" to joining at this point, then I would like to send out a questionaire/survey and find out what *you*, the members, would like to see the direction of the organization headed. What types of functions, get-togethers, weigh-offs, prize structures, meetings, etc. *you* as a group would like to do and how you would like to do it. We as a "group" must develop a mission statement and develop our long-term goals. But before we can do this as a group we must be committed as a group, and the first step of that process is the formal act of joining and paying dues. I'm very excited and hopeful this organization can get together and become a force in this hobby, I need you to be with me to do it.

If this was like a seed request there would be 5 messages here from other clubs asking for growers to send the $20 to their club instead.
