This may have been used before and I haven't heard, or it might not work for some reason. If you have a rectangular patch approx. 18 X 23, would it be a good idea to grow the pumpkin in one corner of the patch, and grow the main towards the other corner? The secondaries would then be grown parallel to the edges of the patch. It would be something like a christmas tree style, but with the tree branches pointing up some at an angle. Does this make sense? If I haven't explained myself very well, let me know and I'll try to post a diagram of what I'm thinking. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I think it would work. Go back in the photo gallery about 20 or so pictures and you'll see something I came up with. I think it's titled something like "new pruning method" Alex.

Absolutely you are correct. The main will be your major factor gaining feet. I would support such thinking. There would be no gain in secondary space at all. That is a trade off of position and space.
