I've got a hill of Howdens growing, just looking for a Halloween decoration or two. Started out well, eventually setting several fruit. The hill has now, however, gone downhill quickly. The leaves are yellowing terribly. It started in the middle and is working out.
Now, I understand this is the norm. I've trimmed back the dead leaves, but it's getting hard to keep up. There is some powdery mildew and I've been spraying with Daconil. Between the humidity and the ridiculous amount of rain we've had, I fear the Daconil is a waste of time.
So....what to do? I fear the fruit will not mature before the plant kicks the bucket. Is the mildew winning? I,ve got 5-10-40 and seaweed. Anything to do?

Sounds like the mildew is winning....I wish I knew a cure. Try i part milk with 9 parts water and spray everything. Repeat after rain.....report back.....G

JMB3...I have 20 acres of pumpkins and I am having identical issues that you are. The fields are looking terrible. I'm going to do some research, but what causes powdery mildew?????
