Just as a heads up to people out there in pumpkin land I had the unfortunate displeasure of talking with the folks at the Americana hotel this afternoon. No, it was not that they were rude, just out of rooms!! I had to wait till this time of year to book my room for myself and fiance do to finances. (My tax return had to come in first.) When I called I was informed that the only room left was a suite. Sounds cool but it ran close to 500 bucks for the three nights I would need to stay. So in closing if ya had not booked a room yet you might wanna call quickly and get whats left of the suites. I'm sad to say that unless I fall into some cash I will not be able to make the trip this year. :(

5150,
There are probably 100 or more places to stay. Get a Ontario guide from AAA and many of them are rated there. I'll e-mail you!

John, Check with the people that run the seminar, they will be able to provide you with names of other hotels in the area. There are a great many hotels very close to the Americana that could provide you with a comfortable place to stay.

John,
I found my AAA book. Rooms in the area can be as low as $48, even cheaper on the NY side. E-mail me with how much you want to pay, and I'll send you some possibilities!

Better yet, you want an awesome price, go to Hotels.com and put in Niagara Falls, Canada, and even though the hotel might say out of rooms, these companies buy blocks of rooms, and may still have a room or 6 in a cheap price range. If the Americana is definitely sold out, look for other hotels in Niagara Falls, Yes, you may have to stray a few miles from the Americana, but 3-4 miles is nothing as there will be plenty of rooms available in the Casino area. I went up there Valentines Day weekend, and it was packed, but still lots of rooms. For a cheaper (non Sheraton) type room that still has decent rates and accomodations, try the Imperial Suite. Best of luck..

The hotel is useless with directions too. The sent me a link to Mapquest as if I'd never heard of it. Trouble is. Mapquest never heard of them!

Well some good news for me! I was able to get a hotel (Courtyard Marriot) for a cheap price and will be able to make it up to Niagra this March!! Their rooms ran about 80 bucks a night with a four person hot tub in the room! Hotels.com had a "spring special" posted. Party at my place. Cubans all around!! :)
