WAIT-A-MINUTE-WAIT-A-MINUTE-WAIT-A-MINUTE! Squirrels, raccoons, mice and rabbits are threats?????

I live in Critter-ville. I've made improvements to our brook's ecology, which has brought more of them in! I'm doomed!! What about porquipines? Tell me the half dozen chipmunks are O.K. I can control the wildebeest but how do you keep a snake caged up with your pumpkin? And where can I get a fence to keep all these guys at bay. Maybe a black panther wouldn't be a bad idea. GULP.

yes those little critters will do in a pumpkin try a plastic owlmoved around the patch every few days or you can try and feed them something better than your pumpkin like nuts/sunflower nuts or make a hot pepper spray

Give some consideration to an electric fence. It doesn't kill them, only gives a "memorable correction" to their behavior.

I might have to do that.

Will put it on my next year Christmas list, though, along with THE book and seed exchange seed.

Mrs. Optimistic-Amused-But-Holycow-Bill might cart me off to the funny farm if she catches me lavishing any more praise on my pitiful (to this group) but-still-growing-steady-and-MUCH-better-than-her pumpkin of this year. BUT WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR. Bill C.
