Was curious if any of you have had this problem....

I'm working on my MBA and was in my finance class tonight and was doing an amortization table. One of the numbers to come up in my calculations was 1134.59. Immediately I thought, "1134 Holland". Then, later on, one of the numbers was 712.78. "712 Kuhn". This has been happening alot lately. It seems that whenever I see a number that matches a seed I now, I immediately make the associtation.

Next thing you know I'll be seeing pumpkins in ink blots. Seriously though. Does this happen to anyone else, or have I just gone overboard?

happens to me. My wife thinks I've gone nuts. Maybe. The other thing that happens... I drive through the country and scowel at properties with open spaces thinking "the owners are wasting all that land on horses when they could be growing pumpkins!" This is rough for me because I live in the country.

Yes, I have this problem too. When I was estimating my new growing area sqft. I came up with 712 and 846. I decided to make it even larger at 960 sqft. Now I need to find a 960 Rose to plant. Good carma should count for at least 1% of growing technique.

I've noticed this also occurs with the Pa. daily number, could just kick myself when 846,801, 705,etc., etc.,repeatedly show up. One year I had the wife stop and play my pumpkin weights on the way home from the weigh-off,guess what, we hit!

I do it when driving and I see those route numbers. Just about everyone brings to mind a pumpkin. It is an obsession isn't it.

I'm with Gordon... GO UTES!

I think it's very normal, or at least I hope!

When I was a Mustang freak, whenever I'd see 302 I'd
associate that with the engine displacement.

I'm also a Nikon freak, so the digits F5 were important
to me. When I'd go to the vending machine I'd check out
the item in slot F-5... Of course it's now D100. That's
a little less common.

Of course, I notice pumpkin weights as well. Hmm.. I live
at 12695... OH wait, that's five digits... that'll be
a while. 1269.5, hey, that would work!

A good way to choose a random seed for the patch is to keep track of lisence plate numbers. pick a few pumpkins you like and then keep track of how often you see them on the road. Whichever wins by planting time, go with it.

Example YPQ 582, or 783 XCD, or if it a low number say TYP 112, throw a 1 in front and you have an 1112 Handy.
Its kinda fun, but don't have a wreck.

I chose the 800 Edwards squash back in the spring of 2000 this way as my random seed and it ended up throwing the new Oregon Record at the time. It is a kick, and good practice for memorizing seeds.

it happens to me with the time on the clock...too bad the clock only goes up to 1259... and also with radio stations. i also look at people's grass filled lawns like Mr. Sprout and in my head I see elaborate flower gardens and pumpkin patches.
OH Yeah....anyone ever check out people's dirt? Tom and I pulled onto a side road one time to look at the dark dirt in a field we saw...it somewhere between my house and Joe's house.

Brigitte,
Looks like we are then really lucky here in Germany. We don't have that am and pm thing...our digital clocks go up to 2359....that would be a nice weigh for sure... :-)
