Subject: pumpkins turning orange is it to soon?

I was away on holidays ,when I came back most of my leaves have what appears to be powdery mildew and my pumpkins are almost all orange this seems too early for harvesting if I have to pick them now is there any way that they would last until halloween any thoughts would be greatly appreciated MARK

My Pumpkin "Pepper" is only 12 days old and was turning orange even in the shade at 7 days!
