I saved seeds from my own pumpkins this year. I had four plants (I later culled one) and I intentionally crossed them with each other. The resulting largest pumpkins weighed 422 and 4221/2 pounds. They were both grown on the same plant...a 770 Van. I crossed the 770 Van with either the 695.8 Van, a 945 Van or a 640.5 Gardner. I tried to keep track but the bugs were busy too...so I am not sure of the exact parentage. I still have a few original seeds that were sent me last year from some of the Vans and the 640.5 Gardners. These seeds were from larger pumpkins than the ones I grew this year. Should I plant some of my own crosses or stick with the original seeds? I have room for 3 plants. Decisions...decisions.

If I were you, i would look for some new seeds. I would not try to plant any seeds that are open polinated unless you know that they are good genetics of what it could be crossed with. I know hard it is, as every year people get faced with the same problem, and each year we learn more and more. If you need some seeds email me, i would more than happy to provide you with more than enought seeds.
Good Luck
