I am assuming that the seed for the contest can be crossed with anything you want. Would that be correct?

What difference would it make what you cross it with....The pollination only effects the seeds, not the fruit. Then what ever you cross it with shows up in the next generation.

Well it would seem that way yes, and I'm no expert but I don't know. Pumpkins grown off the same seed, even on the same plant but pollinated differently look and behave in different ways. Just a coincidence? What do other people think?
