The 706 is from the 1048 Cox, and was open pollenated. The pollen could be either a self or a 1007 Brown. This fruit was sold to a lady in Kingston PA by Len who wanted to beat her son. The bet was for a dollar, but she wanted to win it so bad, so she bought this fruit for 100 bucks. Len got someof the seeds, and so did the lady. I talked to Len 2 nights ago, and he stated he did send some out, but there are very few out there. Don't bother emailing or writing to Len for them, he doesnt have anymore, but is going to ask the lady who bought the fruit if she still has some. No, it is not the reverse cross of the 898, atleast not in the purist form. There is also possibility of squash being in there from his distant patch where he grew the 525 pound squash that year.

I grew 6-706 Knauss seeds, biggest was under 100 lbs this year.

Thanks much Rocky and Tom, just the info I was looking for.
Surprised to hear the seed didn't do much for Tom tho', my understanding was the pumpkin was around/between 30-37% heavy.
