I have a question and would like to know what to do. Have one pumpkin set pretty well that has been growing well for 30 days last measured a week ago and it grew 5 inches in circumference overnight from 72 to 77 inches. been away all week so the ground was dry but a another pumpkin grew three times it's size trouble is it's hanging over a fence. while the good pumpkin only grew 1 inch all week. I am worried if I cut the one on the fence off completely it will blow up the good one..If I just snip the vine a little everyday on the fence one to slow it down is this okay? Also I noticed that the good one is starting to tinge orange is it over or do I still have a shot at keeping it growing.. Thanks any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks. A slow cull is the way I'l go....the tinge of orange does'nt mean it'ss done ...put more shade on it from the late afternoon sun the blossom end was getting. sorry bruiser for your double loss! still want those "SAYLOR" seeds sound perfect for a real summer in NJ

Cull the suckers, If your other fruit was on a main vine the shock will be minimal, cull the extra predatory "Storage tank " from the chosen fruit, vines can be trimmed a little later. Water with seeweed one day before, and one day after adjusting your plant. Best wishes....... Gads

Thanks for the help. Did A small cut in the storage tank last week it slowed it down but didn't stop it so I completely culled it off this week. The larger one did show much more growth after the slit last week so i figure it was okay to remove the other one completely. Been using neptune fish and seaweed the last week...So let's hope it will continue to grow. Thanks again!
