I grow pumpkins for carving and sell wholesale. Does anybody know where you can order or get large boxes for pumpkins. I've seen some that were about 4' x 4' wide and about 4' high. They were white and had a pumpkin scene on them. Hope somebody can help me find some. I need over 100.

yeah....the ones that I saw had this. But I don't need a scene on them. I could just use regular cardboard color.

If you're looking for a consistent size, sounds like you're looking for a box maker. Two and a half suggestions. 1. Check the phone book under packaging and see if they can sell you a pallet or so of the correct size. 2(a) find any factory likely to ship in cartons, in particular a food plant and ask them for a referece. 2b. find same factory likely to have the right sized box and ask if you can buy 30 or whatever. You won't be able to order custom made, cause you'll have to sell your first born children along with the pumpkins to get them.
Other ideas: stationary or mailbox store, rental shop specializing in moving might be a good choice. Also if going through local retail, might talk to the produce guy about ideas. Bill C.

Hey Optimistic.... Good ideas. I've seen produce like watermelons come in boxes like that. I'll contact them and see if they can steer me in the right direction. I can't find any companies locally that carry this type of box. Check out one of my fields of pumpkins in the Photo Gallery. After you see it, you'll know why I need boxes. Arnie

Good luck. When I'm not tending my LONELY pumpkin I'm processing and boxing off 50,000 lb. of Atlantic salmon a day, so boxes are a daily and (sigh) very expensive part of my life. Bill C.

Oh yeah, if you do find a watermelon box see if you can check the bottom. The manufacturer's name and city should be stamped there. Might get lucky that way too. Bill C.

Hey Arnie, How long till you need the boxes? I have some friends that run a farm market down the road & every year they use the exact boxes that you are talking about. I will run down there Saturday & find out where they order theirs from.....Paul

Hey huffs pumpkins.....I need the boxes around Oct 1. I would greatly appreciate if you could find out for me. Thanks a bunch. Optimistic....another good idea. I'll look to see if I can find the manufacturer on the bottom of some boxes that I see. Duh...why didn't I think of that.

Keith and Jeff, 'bout $2.30US a pound at the plant (20 minutes NE of Maine). Probably about $3.50, 4 bucks, at the store if you don't want to make the drive. Of course if you came all the way from Georgia, I'd probably get you some for free. Bill C.
