Hello Everyone,

I am still trying to track down Wayne Peters. He had a great looking pumpkin at the Neekooska weigh-off. I wanted to find out what the genetic background of the pumpkin he entered was. Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

ahhhh but what you should be hunting for is the seed that this pumpkin came from. It was a 705 stelts offspring from Tom Beachy. Shannon

The 1033 peteres (offcial GPC standing) as i understand was a seed from P and P. It was labeled on the packet "801 Stelts Offspring". That is a direct quote from Mr Peters when Tom Beachy and I were talking with him at the weighoff. Tom Beachy says it was his 243? from 2002 which was a 801 stelts x open pollinated th at grew the 1033 Peters. Just goes to show even open pollinated can grow big pumpkins.

Shannon...what you smoking? LOL It was a 801.5 Stelts offspring sold through P&P seeds last year. It was from my dad's 801.5 plant that grew his 807. The fruit in question was the 243 D. Beachy 2002. Just looking at Wayne's fruit, I have a pretty good idea what the pollinator was, but since it was open pollinated, I wont say because all it is is a guess. I have very few of the 243's left. Ray is still selling them I think. The Wayne Peters fruit was officially 1047 a week or 2 previous. Looked a little light to the charts to me.....

I am very low on the 243's, but if someone for sure wants to plant it I will give them one. Seriously tho, I have fewer seeds of the 243 than any of my stocks. So please dont come hoarding. Save those for the other stocks I got.

Email me if your interested.

I remember seeing the 1033 Peters at Nekoosa last year. That thing was as big as a house. Anyone know what it taped out at?

It was the biggest fruit at the weighoff by far in Nekoosa. It sure looked like it taped out at 1150+....but i didnt get a chance to tape it myself and regret not getting a chance. It was a big orange balloon...it was a site to see.
