Rivard 819.5. There is surprisingly no Lloyd 935 in it's background. Great looking family tree! Holland 1134 Sandvik 676 and 421 (Same and reverse cross of the 723 and 845 Garrell 525 (same cross as the Calai 846) Eaton 1132 (Al really likes this one) Jutras 1225.4 Kuhn 602 La Rue 771 Joynson 756 Whitter 1458 Companion 1048 (I hope you enjoy this seed Brett) Hester 977 Pukos 676 Pukos 978

Isn't this like the 5th post of someone asking what people's predictions are for the hot seeds of 04?

I think the 752 Blair will be a hot seed in 2004. I think a monster will be grown from it.

So Cary, will said Monster be residing in Merlin, Or in 2004? If so, what other monsters will be learning the Polka? lol...Dale

Well Cary, there will be some very large orange and very large green monsters in the Applegate this year! Some are being grown with future years in mind, if ya know what I mean. As for helping you get loaded, it'll be at like 2 in the morning after I load up my giant, my wife's giant, my oldest son's giant, my giant squash and my golden globe entry: then head over to Warren's to get his loaded, then help another Applegator who is a new grower with his.........
You going to have the coffee on? lol. Oh BTW...I am going to beat you with a sound pumpkin this year! Just wanted you to have time to get used to the idea so that you are not too deflated when it happens....lol. Nothing personal and all...oh....that is is my wife lets me...lol. Dale

Sorry to burst your bubbles but I can't see how the 880 Bortner will be a constent big grower with 11 different great-great grandparents or the 752 Blair which is a little nicer of a family line but how consistent will it be.
Yes the 552 Sherwood maybe a good seed in time but if you want a great squash seed why not try the 675* Hester. or better yet the 899.5 Werner, Quinn did an excellent job on that one and only 2, yes 2 great-great grandparents this is a great example of line-breeding and an excellent candidate for out-crossing, the perfect seed match would be the 738* Stellpflug '97. If this cross was made in 2004 I would try to secure as many seeds as you can. (no I'm not doing this one)
For pumpkin get your hands on the 1037.5, 1047.0 Bobier and 1051 Checkon seeds.
my two cents TTYL Ernie Giant Veggies

Hey Dale is that a challenge there mister? lol Bring it on, I too hope that you get a sound one this year. But I hope to kick your butt none the less... Oh and thank you for giving me time to adjust to the idea of defeat :) I just hope to be there by your side with a hanky when I out weigh you :)

Cary, I am sorry to say Cary that it will be a sad day for all if you outweigh me. I mean you are like what 105lbs? If you got up to 300 like me, yikes!!!....lol. Yo's need more than a hanky I'm afraid.
Yup it is a challenge there Mrs. Dot...green angel...lol. How can we make this interesting. How about like a traveling trophy for the heaviest pumpkin in Southern Oregon? Bragging rights for a whole year as each year's winner gets the trophy till the next year's weigh off? Or maybe we could just be rednecks and bet a truck load of manure...lol.
Maybe I should go pick out the trophy being as it has to fit with my home decor come October!

Dale,
I would be very interested in some of that "traveling trophy" action! I suppose it will only apply to Pumpkins though. Still I am willing to kick down a few bucks for a plastic trophy...

Dale,
It sure is getting deep isnt it? lol I will just make sure that I get a few hankies for you . As for the weight of myself I am only 110 pounds but dont you worry I will hold my own :)I will think on what could make this an interesting challenge. The manure idea is a good one :) We better be careful though Warren might just whoop us both.
