No good for pumpkins, only good for the grower.

beer is a good soil activator... (haven't you ever seen Jerry Baker, America's gardener on PBS ?) it help promote the growth of all those little micro-organisims that are essential for good soil. yeast- fermentation- all that type of stuff.

Another important purpose of beer is that it is the preferred object to place in a picture with your pumpkin for scale. Though pop cans are sometimes used I consider that to be a faux pas. It also gives you a little insight on what the grower may actually be like: - Sam Adams - grower not spending enough money on their patch. - Black Label - grower spending too much money on their patch or possibly underage. - Budweiser - grower spending weekends at NASCAR races instead of tending to patch. - Coors Light - grower eating too many chili dogs instead of tending to their patch (this is where I fit in:)

I like the black label approach, you still get to catch a buzz while in the patch, and it's cheep enough you don't mind sharing with the Cucurbites...........?

found it takes a couple seasons to learn how to navigate a patch without leaving a trail of destruction behind me ! with three AG growing seasons behind me now, i can successfully consume multiple Silver Bullits to numb the effects of skeeters, no-seeums, deer flies, etc., etc. while tending to patch needs! tread lightly, and carry a coldie !

Another benefit of beer is the cartons, you can place one around your seedlings in the spring for protection, the only problem with that is if you only grow 2 or 3 plants what the heck do with the other 200+ CARTONS

i think you all have it wrong, yes the beer helps, but the thing that puts on the weight is the chips that go with the beer.

For us backyard growers, the perfect weekend is to have a Bud sitting on the deck admiring your hard work in the patch over the weekend, of course the work was done either before or after the race. Right Jeff?
