I know it's still early in the winter yet but do some of you have some favorite new seeds for this summer?
Mine are the:
676 Sandvik (865 Mettler x 935 Lloyd)...Reverse x of you know what
1458 Whitter (582 Hester x 695 Handy)...I know, what you're thinking, big pumpkin doesn't always make big pumpkins, but besides, it is a good cross
Holland 1134 (846 Calai x 845 Bobier)...Reverse x of the Weir 1260
Rivard 819.5 (877 Kline x 846 Calai)...A good looking family tree

Here is my projected Stars of 2004. Still very early in the game. 2003 seeds 741 Eaton, may have the most potential. Will be extensivly planted. 1036 Perez, tremendous strength in this seed. Boytons diary.

I'll throw in a wildcard. Throw in a 502 Palbrach!!! Great genetics - 783 Daletas x 846 Calai. Awesome plant, vigorous and heat resistant. Best plant of 100 different seeds in my test patch..... Ben

Talking about hunches from last year seeds, I would say the next have to be not bad: 1385 Daletas, 741 Eaton, 760 Papas, 1036 Perez... and for colour: 1048 and 1036 Companion

I agree on the companion seeds for color.
I wanted to throw out the 865 Black 03. Its not on the aggc and I saw it offered on howard dills list of seeds off his website. Its 1260 Weir x 801 stelts. Don grew a 1002 lb fruit from his 801 stelts. Other than a good looking cross, i have no idea on color, shape, and heaviness of both fruit. Would be interesting to know if anyone has any information. The 1002 is 801 stelts x 876 Lloyd. Again, another 846 remake.
Oh, and that 502 Palbrach boily mentioned.....It will get a lot of play here in WI in 2004. I sure hope it pans out. Very limited in seed count.
I also hear the 1036 Perez is doing well in another place other than boily's patch. That might be a great seed soon as well.

This year I will be going with the 1016 Daletas,582 Hester, and the 760 Pappas.
If catastrophic germination failure hits either of the first two, the backups will be the 977 Hester and the 794 Wronski.

Thanks for the positive feedback on my 794 Wronski and 583 Wronski, both seeds offer exceptional posibilities, great genetics.
Another couple of seeds that I think will prove successful are: 753 Pappas (898 Knuass self'd), 760 Pappas (582 Hester x 898 Knauss).
Also, Art Kaczenski's 717 (1019 Marcellus x 838 Bobier).
Nothing would make me happier than to see multiple 1000 pounders grown by other growers using my seeds!
