Never sold a pumpkin before myself, but, on Nic Welty's website there is a chart on how much he sells his for: 100-300 lbs .20 per pound 300-400 lbs .25 per pound 400-500 lbs .50 per pound 500-700 lbs .60 per pound over 700 is negotiable.
best of luck!

I agree with the numbers above, a fruit weighing 500lbs typically goes for $.50/lb give or take depending on color and shape. Given an offer of $500, I'd say thats very generous of the buyer and would scrap that up asap.

Is that $500 dollar where buyer picks up the pumpkin at your place or $500 including delivery by you? If you have to deliver it to the buyer charge at min $20 for deliver + $500 for the pumpkin.

You guys aren't thinking. Supply and demand determines price. That's 1000 pound fruit being cut short of fame. Charge accordingly. Where else is there another? Charge the same for delivery as it would cost them to rent a truck and hire a driver to pick it up. Anything less would not be expected by a professional buyer of stage props.

500 dollars if very good!! Of course the supply is lower in the Bahammas, at our weigh off, people were selling 800 pound pumpkins for like 200 bucks.. Good looking 800 pounders too. 500 would be great here but there, you probably could get more but I'd be very happy with 500.

SIMPLE DOMESTIC AGs HAVE THAT LOWWWWW PRICE. A tv station has big advertising dollars. i would ask their commercial department what they charge to broadcast commercials. i assume that they will be selling commercial time for this documentary. its worth $1000 easy. they could do some trading with you.

it's all based on what you want and what you will accept for the fruit---let's just say that you want repeat business---AND, keep it in mind that it is something you love to do!!! you have the only one around--i like the answers that say take that nice $500 and charge them $20 for delivery-if they can't or won't do it. think about the chance that you won't get anything if you start asking for too much. think about the last time you tried to buy a car...you wanna get a good deal, and it has to balance out. shoe on the other foot. $500 sounds good to me, but try to get the seeds back, too. good luck! eric
