Just got back from a wonderful holidays in New Brunswick Canada, Maine and New Hampshire and want to share my feelings with all of you here...

Probably nobody will read this anyway.

I must say that after three years of trying to grow AG pumpkins that I'm still amazed at the generosity and sincerity of growers around the world.

My wife and I saved for two years so that we could visit my family in Canada and finally indroduce them to my son Tex who is the fifth and final member of the White family here in Germany.

The Berard family in southern Maine opened their arms and hearts to us, organized a seafood meeting in New Hampshire
and swamped us with seeds, gifts friendship and pumpkin lore that I'd never imagined possible.

THE James Kuhn, Al Berard, Matt Mongeon and Robert Demers took time during their busy holidays to drive all the way to a seafood restaurant in Newmarket to spend time with us and shoot the shit and it's then that I realized that I was in pumpkin heaven...and that my eventual move from Germany to New Hampshire would be a good move.

To all of you I wish you a great 2004 growing season and I wish you friendship with great growers like I've found in southern maine and new hampshire.

Don't ask me for any seeds though 'cause the New Hampshire growers had another terrible year and done run out completely...
he he!

Thanks N.H. and Maine true ladies too for not pursuading
Isabel my wife to feel bad or stear me away from my passions for growing.

The reason most of the N.H. growers did so well in the first place is because the wives did most of the work down there so my hats go off to them!...right Yvette!

Talk to ya'all soon!

Glad you had fun Michel. It seems that all the growers everywhere are a generous, helpful, & genuinely nice bunch of people.

The NEPGA dinner should be well attended with very fine folks.

YUP!
I'm back in Germany now and I brought the warm
weather back with me and just left the cold
in New Hampshire.

Just when I thought everything was cool with them
growers I just found out that they want all the
seeds they gave me back...he he!

Now I'm really confused!

Sorry too that we didn't have more time to meet everyone like Stunner, Bruce and Peter but I may be back over in springtime
if I can find someone to pay my meals again...LOL!
I have to help Yvette grow Al's pumpkin this year 'cause
I think she's getting a part time job or something...
Later! (Have to go out and haul in some more manure
to the patches...)

WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR

So. Maine

Mike, thanks for the kind words from Yvette & I and we think with the seed selection you now have you will grow a new record pumpkin in Germany in 2004.(even though there was a little mix up in one of the seed bags)
Bruce Whittier really wanted to join us for the restaurant meeting at Newicks but he came down with the flu and when I was speaking to him the day before on the phone he sounded like he needed a bowl of chicken soup and a good nights sleep. I hope he is feeling better.
I also think Yvette is just threatening me about getting a part time job because she wants a boost in her pay for growing MY giants. he he he

Gotta go ! just got a seed pack from Brett Hester in the mail ( gotta check whats inside ! )

Good Luck Michel........................GROW EM BIG !!!!!

Newicks was great Ben and I'll pay the round there if you want to show up next time I get there!
Too bad you are on the other side of the country.
How did you know about Newicks?
Congrats on your 880 this year too!
