Just shortly after finding out our Association website was off-line due to the server being hacked I received a call that the building I once owned and ran Joyner's General Store from which I still maintain an office in for our other business was ingulfed in flames. After arriving downtown the magnitude of the fire hit me.

The whole block was on fire which includes 4 buildings and 9 business's. two of which are owned by close family friends. Every thing has been lost by my friends, I luckily only lost my office not my livily hood. The fire started at around 10:00 am Jan 1 and is still ragging at this hour. All fire stations are involved with over 65 firefighters.

So far it is estimated damage is in the 10's of millions as the buildings were heritage property's and older than the city itself, The General store alone lost one of two only operational original cash cable systems in the world estimated at 5 million dollars. All buildings were in the tourist block and my one friend Grant ran the famous city ice cream parlour, the building was in his family for over 100 years.

Sorry to ramble on but the disappointment is overwhelming, I will still be offering a tomato naming contest for my new variety and helping with the Association seed raffle but as far as any more restoring of the wcpga.com website that was just put back on-line it will be done when time permits. Memebers please be patient....
