642 was scorched in a hot house in early spring. severely stunted its growth. But now I have 3 fruit that are growing at an alarming rate. Football shaped, very long and shiny. Each is about 150 lbs. Mark P was correct, this plant puts all its energy into the fruit. Small plant by nature.

Western Washington hit 63° today! We could use some of that "heat"!

no, you don't need it, it was 95 degrees the humidity was high too, the heat index was 115 for 3 days then 105-110 for the next week, the highest temperature the whole time was 101 degrees, I lost several plants. I hope you don't get the heat I had, it stopped the growth of my biggest pumpkin, at that time I was still in the race with a lot of the bigpumpkins.com growers with an estimated wieght of 23.2 pounds, but, it still has an estimated wieght of 23.2 pounds
