Has anyone here bought a scale for weighing? It would be kind of fun to have one although a high quality scale would probably be pretty expensive.
Here is a 2000 lb digital scale that I found for $300. It has a small platform so you would have to rig up something larger.

hi jimr i was looking at this scale about a month ago. like you said the platform size is an issue. as well it only reads within 2lbs. i wanted one for weighing my pumpkins certifiably (no weigh off here yet) so that i would not be depended on the only scale on the island here. but it has to be readable within 0.5lbs. if anyone knows of such a scale i would be very interested in buying it.

i BELIEVE it's the PGVG that has an inline scale (Jim Sherwood, Jack La Rue) that is really accurate as well as in that price range---very sketchy on my part, but it is in a newsletter i just got a short time ago, and i think it was of this realm---it is very interesting, though, that there are also these set-something-on-it scales as well, which could also serve us very well! thanks! I bought 1 of those inline scales from the pgvg, and they are really accurate, we also weighed pumpkins while they still were on the vine in the patch to. for $399.00 you can't go wrong.

If anyone is interested in an inline scale, as Ben says please contact myself at [email protected] or Jack LaRue @ [email protected]. We are about to put the second order together.
