My Dill 875 had 10 female blossoms so far and they have mostly all aborted. The plant growth slowed for a few days when it was rainy and humid. Now it is racing again. I have not fertilized it recently but there may have been more granular high nitrogen in the soil than I needed. I was thinking of giving it some 10-10-10- granular and 20-20-20- water soluable spray to balance things out but I wasn't sure if this would do more harm than good. Also should I give it any neptunes seaweed/fish at this time. The plant color is good and it is disease free. Thanks all Amy

Amy are you pollinating your female blossoms by hand? I've had alot of rain the past 3 weeks, I've been hand pollinating my female blossims with 3 male blossoms and then covering the female blossoms with sandwich bags until the blossoms close. This has giving about 90% pumpkin pollination.

Amy, I lost a very early female last year and I think it was from covering the blossom with a plastic bag. I have also lost some by being too rough when burying vines, any vines I haven't buried yet, I will wait till after fruit sets.Did you ever notice the green spikes under the pumpkin? I believe that if these or the blossom are not handled daintily, more aborts will occur.Good Luck!
