I can't wait any longer, I think I'm going to start some seeds this weekend just to watch them grow for a while. Maybe even transplant one to my extra bathtub with a grow light for a while. I know I'm nuts but so what. talk to everybody soon.

Sounds like you got the pumpkin bug. You can get a jump start on your germination techniques if you have extra seeds. You will get germination in 3-5 days if you have a heat source that maintains the soil temperature between 80 and 90 degrees. You will get a lower germination rate below 80 degrees and no germination above 100. Be creative! I've read of people using light bulbs, heating pads, slow cookers, and even putting into a gas oven with the pilot light providing the heat. Be careful to keep flammable materials away from your heat source! You will need a soil thermometer to monitor the soil temperature. Once germination occurs, remove the heat source or you will have to contend with soil diseases such as dampoff.

Stay tuned for Germination Cam! I will also be writing an article on how to start seeds. Many people are asking for it when they request are free seeds. The article is not written yet, so please feel free to contribute ideas... If anyone has any good pictures of seed starting let me know.
