I'm new to this pumpkin growing thing. My biggest is 70 lbs. It is to late for me to cut the ends off the still growing vines and bury them? I would like to see more size in my pumpkin - Lemon Pie, she looks good and gained 20 lbs in 4 days. Wisconsin is already showing signs of fall with cooler nights now. Any suggestions, thanks Mare.

Pumpkins slow down in growth especially when the temps drop into the 40's.

Our average nightime temperatures here in the Pacific Northwest during August(our warmest month) are about 55°! Average maximum daytime temps are 77°.

We had a cold front hit this past Friday night, set off a few tornadoes on the way too. But our evenings have dropped down to upper 50's and highs in the 80's. Weatherman says it is suppose to warm back up again...Karen

We have had a "dry" year, for the most part. In July, we had about 1/3" rain and 1/8" in August.

We are in the middle of a three year drought and there are tons of water restrictions.
