After roughly 3 weeks of 90-100degree weather, my pumkin has screeched to a halt at roughly 220 lbs (est). I tried to jumpstart it with a little extra miricle grow, but to no avail. Question is...is there life after 'heatwave', or should I cull it now and hope it lasts until Halowe'en. Rick

From what I've read it's hard to get a pumpkin growing again after an extended period of heat. I've had the same problem here and my pumpkins are stuck right where they were a week ago. Unfortunately I don't think you will be able to ride it out until halloween though I have heard that they can last quite a while if kept cool and dry. I left mine in the patch and they began to rot a few weeks after they stopped growing.

I kept a conn. field from last year until planting time this year, I threw it in my compost pile, it started rotting a few days later.
