Hi board, I posted a picture of Number 1 yesterday and if you look at it you can see it is high on both ends. Well today when I measured (gained 5 inches to 66 cir) I gave it a few thumps and it sounds hollow in the middle and solid on each end. In addition the middle area seems even more depressed. 1) Could this be a dill ring starting early? 2) Is this a notoriously doomed shape? 3) Is there a technique to minimise dill ring formation?

so what you're saying is its starting to look like a peanut lol!! dill rings usually dont form until later, but they'll be a distinct line that you can see. this is probably just the characteristic of this particular fruit. i've seen alot of variation between fruits in my patch, it just gives them character!

I hope it gets as big as the Peanut in the comercial and dances around. I Measured 8 hours latter and it is now 68 cir(#1). We are expecting rain tonight, we could use at least an inch.
