I have developed a split in the largest secondary vine about one foot from the takeoff from the main vine. What, if anything, do I do about this? Considered removing the vine, simply treating with fungicide and trying to keep it dry, and not setting a fruit on this vine.

Brian, I would remove it if it was my plant. Definelty would not set a pumpkin on it. Removing one secondary vine isn't going to hurt your potential fruit on other vines at all. I know heavy hitters that remove every other secondary on purpose and grow 900+ fruit on the main vines and 700-800 pounders on secondaries. Good Luck this season, Gophergirl
