My 457 Desrosiers has a main vine aprox 7 feet long and two secondary vines aprox 3 feet long. The whole plant has approx 30 to 40 leaves. The plant is taking off right now and growing steadily, but seems quite small in comparison to other plants on this site. I transplanted it the first week in may, and it did suffer some wind damage early. Also it has five female blossoms (none open) all just a few feet from the base. It also has dozens of male blossoms (also unopened). I live in central Minnesota. Is my plant normal or behind schedule?

i would say normal. If you set fruit in the first week of july or earlier, you are on schedual. My plants are probably a week ahead of yours, and sometimes that is alot considering how fast they can grow. I live in central wisconsin so i have close to the same weather as you do, i wouldn't be worried.

That sounds a lot like the 815 Checkon in Pumpkin Cam... I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for your replies. I am a little nervous about getting a big one. I know the main vine has to be longer before I can pollinate a female. I kind of figured I would have a pumpkin going by the end of june. Eric
