I have a secondary vine that grew 10 out of the patch over very poor soil. I lifted it up and the tap roots can't even get going into the hard pan. Is this using more energy than it is giving the plant? I terminated it but should I cut it back 10 to the end of the good soil? Thanks in advance
P.S. I hate SVB's.

Yo Skeer, If the roots aint doing their job, hack em off...the rest of the plant is keeping them growin'. Waste of energy.
