Case, I had the same dilemma with my Holland 1026. Two nice pumpkins on the main vine about 4 feet apart. The first was bigger, but it was only a four lobe pumpkin. The second was a five lobe pumpkin with a longer shape. I culled the 4 lobe it weighed seventy two pounds. I could'nt help but wonder if I just killed a world record.

lol....gads, that is the same way i feel....you just never know.
Both no name and Airis are 5 lobers. but they are both a 150lbs or so, not sure which one to keep. My entries still have not showed up yet, so this is taking longer that i thought it would....need to make a decision soon.

Well it sound's like to me we have some astronomy nuts aboard. aires is latin fpr ram so maybe we have some amature astrologers who know why Ganmmpa #1 will be known as vulpecula, that is latin for Oh go look it up and why we gave it that name. anyway we only have the one growing so it isnt to hard to decide for us. It was hard enough to cull out 16 of 17 plants when we started, when it got down to 2 I realy gave myself a head ache,( well mabe that was a hang over ). Maybe the old eenie meanie mineie moe thing will help. All kidding aside Good luck with your choice. <;-) H-K-J

Casey...I think its obvious that you go with the best positioned and fastest growing one...whichever you pick it will likely pick up its pace when the other is culled so roll the dice !!........G
