New at this but hopeful. I have an area by a small brook, very fertile soft soil, always damp without being swampy, and filtered sunshine. The goal for first year: beat my wife's pumpkin (easy)and have something big.
Newbie question: I have lots of blooms just starting to develop. Will I want to pollinate all available female and select the best looking/positioned one later? Or just pollinate one or two?

It's getting kinda late in the season, but i'd pollinate everything i can before the end of the month, and then keep an eye on the growth, and cull it down to the best 2 or so (always keep a back up). Those last 2 will get all the water, and nutients and really take off. At least, that's what i'm doing.........hope that helps. Good luck.........Cuzbiker

Thanks. Might be a little late but gotta remember that up here in the great white north we can get frost until the full moon in June. oyvey. But we're also within 3 hours drive of Howard Dill so I'm hopeful.
