I believe it has to do with the fact that this particular retinoid reflects sunlight to the non color blind person in an orange wavelength spectrum

so if you gave a pumpkin(AG) LIQUID BETA CAROTENE,,would that help it get orange?,,my wabbits haven gone orange yet,,,,

It works on Canaries. Though canaries ingest vegetable matter & plants ingest animal matter. Fun experiment.
