Subject: Positioning the Pumpkin

Last year I learned a BIG lesson in growing Giant Pumpkins.
The most important part of growing the pumpkin is that the pumpkin must be positioned perpendicular to it's vine. I read it in the book but thought I could get away without doing it. At 243 pounds the pumpkin covered the vine and would not let it move. AS it continued to grow it ripped the stem from the pumpkin. (Please see the picture in the Photo Gallery) Good luck Water = John
