Madman Marc

Colorado Hail, CO. Elev. 5,900 FT

MARC SAWTELLE UPDATE ON 7-14-2001: {COLORADO}
Mixed results on my scherber clone; the plant is doing great, the grower is not! Made
two big mistakes with my plant so far that have probably cost me a new Colorado record.
Had a grip of insects early in the year, and over did the bug spray, thus burning MANY
leaves which had to be pruned off. Also, had my hail prevention windows blow over on
4 side vines and ruining those vines and leaves. The plant still is growing fast and has
developed HUGE leaves and a wide fat thick stem. Have pollinated 4 females so far, with
a few more that will be pollinated before my cut off date of July 21st. First pollinated
pumpkin that was kept was set on July 4th. All is going well, other than my own screw ups.
