I just wanted to run this by the community to see if anyone else is suffering from the same malady as I. I would say at least 5 times a week I dream about something bad happening to my pumpkins. Last night everything just stopped growing. Usually the dreams are more catastrophic....stems splitting, vines snapping, hail, vandalism by the little &#@!! down the street...anyway, you get the idea. Is this just happening to me? Should I go ahead and make reservations at the nuthouse?

No your not nuts! i've been there myself! mine dreams/nitemares usually revolve around "it's the end of the year and the weigh-offs a day or two away and still no pumpkins set" ha like that would matter anyway!

I tried to warn you early on in the season that this was on obsession! "P" for pumpkin also stands for Prozac, "V" for vine also stands for Valium, "B" for blossom (beer), "W" for weigh-off(whiskey), etc., etc. Now do you make the connection? You must use your ability to look like Goldberg, and the strength of Cleon to overcome ALL odds!Don't take this task too lightly!

My wife says that I actually talk in my sleep during the season and vocalize my nightmares! They are just like your's svrichb! Having big ones go down with rib spits the past two seasons has brought that particular nightmare to the forefront. Then there is the one about the 10 foot squash vine borer....

Nope..sorry. Who needs nightmares when you have the real thing? ! At least when YOU wake up they disappear !LOL....Anyone wanna come over and help me pull my 900Lyons plant out ? every single squash has suffered horizontal tears in the fruit stems before they layed down....no cause for these tears at all...no stesses, etc to cause them...actually in compression but cracking like in tension.........anyone seen this before?.......G

Three days in a row I have had the same dream about my vines rotting below me while I was watering them, then I find myself standing on top of the rotten vines........very weird dream.......-P.

i had this dream that i asked my brother to help me slide something under my fruit, and before i had picked up the pumpkin he already was pushing it like there was no tomorrow and sliced a huge chunk out of my best fruit, and then from me looking under it, it split the stem? and then it was growing 6.5 inches a day .....and i was forced to cull? and i was left with fist sized fruit? then i woke up and realized that really happened.

The other night I woke up all upset because I thought my wife had trimmed my plant and dug it up and moved it because she didn't like where it was growing and how much room it was taking up.

I keep dreaming that rabbits are eating all my vines, and taking chunks out of the pumpkins!! I see rabbits out by the patch every night, and that's probably the reason for the dreams! It's way stupid too, cuz i have a beagle close enough to the patch to keep 'em from doing any damage. Weird, eh?

It grew and grew nothing could stop it it was crushing me I was about to lop it To my amazement cleon was near he said to me, do not fear. Many growers before you have come and gone with their pumpkins they've made a special bond Don't let that fruit kick your ass Enjoy Gods creation for soon it will pass.

Brent , I haven't had a dream yet ,maybe you should do what I do , I went on vacation and returned to fertilized pumpkins (and weeds everywhere) so I figure if they can do that without me they can grow without me I waterthem a few hours a day without ever going near the patch I go every couple of days to fertilize and spray sevin. I was getting a little anxious lookng every day I had to stop. Jeff
