All the pumpkins that I pollinated on the 769 Have stopped growing. The biggest one is 10 inches in circumfrence and was pollinated the 5th of July. None of the pumpkins are turning dull, they all are nice and shiney. I have slacked off on all fertilizer so i wouldn't have trouble setting the fruits.
The vine it self is growing faster than ever each of the secondary are growing 8-10 inches a day, and the main vine has grown 4.5 feet in the last 3 Days!!!
Maybe it needs something to shift it its growth from the vines the the fruit...........but what
Justin
Thanks in adv.

If you're all done pollinating females on the secondaries, i'd cut them off, and bury them. At least, that's what i did....all my fruit is on the main vine, and i have almost all the secondaries cut, and buried. I plan on cutting my main vine, and burying it too by the end of the month.... Hopefully by then i'll be done pollinating the females, and just concentrate on fruit growth. Cuzbiker

The last abort I had was 12 inches in circumference so you're not out of the woods yet. It took several days before it started showing visible signs. I'm thinking the heat wave we had didn't help....not to mention I didn't have them shaded yet because I thought I was home free. Live and learn.

They can stop growing and abort at any time, but after basketball size you stand a pretty good chance of not aborting. If yours have stopped, I wouldn't terminate the vines...you may need to pollinate more pumpkins....G
