I found a chart on this web site that relates diameter to estimated weight. Does the author really mean circumference or is that what OTT (Over The Top) is? OTT implies one measures around the pumkin from stem to flower. Is this right?

To estimate weight by diameter, measure the circumference from the stem to blossom end, back to stem at an equal distance from the ground. OTT is when you measure from the ground, over the top to the ground on the other side. (Do not roll tape under curvature of the bottom of the fruit, just straight down.) The OTT method is the most accurate, especially on flat pumpkins low in heigth.

Napan, you weren't the only one who had trouble understanding the directions on measuring. I read the "how to" sections 2-3 times. I also found the diagram pg.112 in Langevin's Book, How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins II very helpful. Suzy in Sloughhouse
